Constitution of Lion & Lamb Christian Fellowship Church
Article I. Name
This independent, non-denominational Church, located in Shawnee County, KS, is named “Lion & Lamb Christian Fellowship Church”, commonly called “Lion & Lamb Church”, and may be referred to as the “Church”.
Article II. Purpose
Lion & Lamb Church is a fellowship of worshiping believers that exists as a local expression of the universal Church of Jesus Christ to communicate the gospel, declare the Word of God, worship our God and Savior, practice the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, build up the Body of Christ, obey His word and fulfill those commands He has enjoined on His Church.
Article III. Doctrine
The Church affirms the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, and the basis for our faith, teaching and practice. The specific doctrines of this Church are expressed in the “Statement of Belief”.
Article IV. Covenant Membership
Covenant Members of Lion & Lamb Church are those who have dedicated themselves to live out their faith in this local body by way of making a covenant of commitment, as described in the Bylaws, and bearing witness to that commitment by way of their signature on the “Covenant Member” form.
Article V. Non-Profit Corporation
This church, incorporated as a Non-Profit Organization in the State of Kansas on August 16, 2004, is organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. No part of any net earnings of the activities of the Church inures to the benefit of its staff, leaders, officers, members or any other individual.
The corporation shall hold, purchase, acquire, sell, convey, lease, mortgage and dispose of properties, both real and personal, and enter into legal agreements and/or contracts, receive and distribute donations or funds of any nature which are in keeping with the Church’s purpose. Any real property owned by this Church will be held in the Church’s name.
This corporation may use, sell, give or loan any of its possessions or assets to, or in behalf of other churches, educational, benevolence or mission institutions or individuals, but only in keeping with the Church’s mission, Constitution, Bylaws, Statement of Belief and Church Policies, all as determined by Church leadership.
The Officers of the Corporation shall all be Covenant Members in good standing of the Church as prescribed in the Bylaws.
Article VI. Leadership
Godly men, as described in Acts 6:1-6, 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-5, who are Covenant Members and affirm the Lion & Lamb Statement of Belief; who agree not to teach contrary to the Statement of Belief and Church Policies may serve in the roles of Elders and Deacons, as described in the Bylaws.
Article VII. Dissolution
The Leaders Council, composed of Elders and Deacons, has authority to dissolve the Church, after consultation with Covenant Members. In the event of dissolution of the Church, all of its debts shall be fully satisfied; none of its assets or holdings shall be divided among members or individuals but shall be irrevocably transferred to another similar organization that is in agreement with the letter and spirit of the Church’s Statement of Belief and in conformity to the requirements of Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
Article VIII. Amendments
The Leaders Council has authority to amend the Constitution and Bylaws. Communication of those changes shall be made to the Covenant Members of the Church after such amendments are adopted.
