About

Sunday Service

Our Sunday service looks a little unconventional.  We begin with a time of Biblically-focused teaching followed by a time of worship.  We want the truth we hear in scriptures to inform our worship so that, in Jesus' words, we "Worship in spirit and truth." John 4:23-24

Our worship time, like everything we do, is meant to reflect the reality of Christ and His presence with us.  We aren't as interested in professional performances as we are in seeing Christ more fully and in worshipping Him truly.

We dedicate a portion of our worship to what we call "open worship."  This is a time, based on 1 Corinthians 14:26, when those in the Church are encouraged to publicly declare God's praise, thank Him for His faithful acts, and offer Him honor in word, song, and scripture.  While this is no longer a common practice in most contemporary churches, we believe open worship honors God and helps us to be true worshipers.  Since we want this time to be encouraging and without confusion, and because it is relatively brief, we have chosen to limit contributions to praise directed to God, rather than exhortation or sharing directed to the Church.
