About
We Believe
In one true, living God; Creator and Sustainer of all things (Gen 1:1;
Deut 10:17; Isa 44.6, 24; 45:12; John1: 1-3; Col 1:16-17; Rev 4:11). That this
one God is a Trinity of persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each
eternally existent, diverse in operation but equal in essence and deity. That
the Father initiates the godhead’s will and shall eventually see all
things submitted to Himself (John 5:36; 1 Cor 15:24-28). That Jesus Christ,
fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died as a
substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world and was raised from the
dead on the third day (Isa 9:6-7; Luke 1:30-35; Matt 28:5-8:Rom 5:8; 1 Cor
15:3-5; Heb 4:15; 9:11-14; 1Joh 2:2); that He currently sits in Heaven at the
right hand of the Father and intercedes for His own (Rom 8:34; Heb 7:25; 1Joh
2:1) until He returns to rule the earth (Zech 14:3-9; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11;
Eph 1:20-23; Heb 1:13; Rev 22:7,20.). That the Holy Spirit is in the
world today, inhabiting believers for fellowship, growth and service (John
14:16-18; 1 Cor 12; Gal 3:2; Eph 1:13-14; 1Jn 5:20) and convicting the world of
sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8-11).
That the Scriptures in their original autographs, are the fully inspired
Word of God, without error, absolute in their authority and complete in their
provision for godly living (Gen 15:1; Ps 119:11, 160; 2 Tim 3:16-17; Heb 4:12;
2 Pet 1:20-21; 3:15-16). That each person is born separated from God through
sin and that through intention and ignorance falls short of His righteous
standard (Ps 51:5; Rom 3:9-12, 23; 5:12; Eph 2:1).
That Salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus
Christ alone; that by believing in Him, we are born again, forgiven our sins,
placed in the family of God and given the Holy Spirit (John 1:12; 5:24; 6:29,
47; 14:6; 20:31: Acts 16:30-31; Rom 3:22, 28; 5:1; Gal 2:16; Eph 1:13-14,
2:8-9; 1Jn 5:13;). That Christians are commissioned to evangelize the
world, making followers of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:18-20; Rom 10:14-15; Acts
1:8;) and that each believer is to display the love of God in service to others
(1Cor 12:7; 1Tim 6:18; 1Joh 3:16-18).
That in the local Church Christ has appointed that Elders (Acts 14:23;
20:28; 1Tim 3:1-2; Tit 1:5-6; 1Pet 5:1-4), and Deacons (Acts 6:2-4; 1 Tim
2:8-13) are to exercise His leadership and oversight That men and women,
while equal in worth before God, are created with different and complementary
roles; that men are to exercise loving leadership in the home and Church and
women supportive help (Eph 5:22-26, 33; Col 3:18-21; 1Tim 2:12-3:2; Tit 2:2-5;
1Pet 3:1-6;). That through baptism each believer is called on to
identify themselves as followers of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:19-20; Act 2:38;
8:12; 16:33); that in the Lord’s Supper, the Church is called on to
remember Jesus Christ in His death, resurrection and future return to the earth
(Luke 22:19; 1Cor 11:23-26).
That each person has an eternal future; those who through faith in Jesus
Christ have been reconciled to God enjoy eternal joy and happiness in God’s
presence (Ps 16:11; John 14:2-3; Rev 21:2-7); those who reject God’s salvation
endure eternal separation from God and all goodness in hell (John 3:18, 36;
2Thes 1:7-10; Rev 20:10,13-15; 21:8).
